As American Legion Post 14 Kootenai County looks towards 2026, we do so with deep gratitude for the enduring service of veterans, the dedication of volunteers, and the steadfast support of our local community. Our organization is thankful for continued progress in advocacy, youth development, and veteran well-being. Looking ahead, we are energized by opportunities that will strengthen membership, expand service opportunities, patriotism, and community leadership for generations to come. Again, we thank you for your ongoing support and for all that you do in support of The American Legion.
Mission Requirements:
American Legion Post 14 is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and our mission is to serve veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces, as well as current military personnel. The organization aims to foster a sense of community and support through various initiatives, scholarships for children, and assistance for local veterans and their families.
Our Vision:
The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization founded on the values, contributions, and sacrifices, of those who answered the nation’s call to arms, therefore we must:

Respond to quality of life needs of all veterans and their families;

Prepare each generation to meet its citizenship obligations;

Maintain a strong national defense;

Perpetuate the principles of government embodied in the United States Constitution;

Be a values-based organization committed to serving God, country, community and every veteran today, tomorrow and throughout the 21st Century.
Why we do what we do:
FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
Preamble To The Constitution
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
To maintain law and order;
To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;
To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars;
To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
To make right the master of might;
To promote peace and goodwill on earth;
To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;
To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
We meet the first Thursday of each month at the Mountain Lakes Bible Church which is located at 2215 N 7th St, Coeur d'Alene, ID and our meetings begin promptly at 6:00p.m.

By becoming a member, individuals can continue to contribute to their communities while upholding the values of patriotism and service. The Post also invites community members to join as Boosters or Sponsors to help sustain their programs and projects that benefit local citizens.
